Enable Mobile TV On

On the LG TV, open connection / network settings and turn on “Turn on via Wi‑Fi” (Mobile TV On on many webOS builds). Menu names vary by year and language. Leave network hardware alive in standby.

Pair once (MAC)

Open Orimote, connect while the TV is on, and approve or enter the PIN. You cannot reliably wake a TV the app has never met. Full steps: how to pair.

Power off, then wake

Put the TV into standby from Orimote, then use wake / power-on. Wait about ~6 seconds. If nothing happens, check guest Wi‑Fi isolation, VPN/VLAN, deep power saving, or that Mobile TV On is still on. Classic remote UI: Mac landing.

Your TV stays on your network.

Orimote talks to your TV directly. No account. No cloud. No analytics.

Local only

Uses LG's local webOS protocol on your home network. Nothing passes through an outside server.

Pinned connection

The TV's certificate is pinned at first pairing, so another device can't pose as your TV.

MCP stays on this MacPC

The agent server binds to 127.0.0.1 and rejects requests coming from web pages.

No tracking

No accounts, telemetry or ads. Pairing keys are stored only on your MacPC.

What the app does, and what it does not do.

  • It controls LG webOS TVs on the same local network, after you approve pairing on the TV.
  • It does not work over the internet and does not control TVs from other brands.
  • The MCP server has no password: while it is on, any program on your MacPC can use it. Turn it off in Settings if you don't need it.
  • Orimote is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by LG Electronics.
